It is easy to think of love as a grand, sweeping emotion reserved for our closest family and friends. But this instruction is much more grounded and down-to-earth. We are called to apply this standard to every single thing we do, no matter how mundane or frustrating the task might be.

Let all that you do be done in love.
Think about your typical daily routine. How would your day change if you applied this filter to folding the laundry, answering a difficult email, or sitting in heavy traffic? When we shift our motive, sweeping the kitchen floor becomes an act of service, and pausing to listen to a chatty coworker becomes a beautiful gift of grace.
You do not have to wait for a massive opportunity to change the world today. Start small by pausing before you speak or act, asking yourself if your next step is rooted in patience and kindness. Even when you have to set a firm boundary or have a tough conversation, you can still choose to do it with a heart that respects the other person.
We will not get this perfect every time, and that is completely okay. The goal is not flawless performance, but a gentle, intentional shifting of our daily habits. When we let love be the engine behind our ordinary routines, we bring a little bit of God's light into the world.
Dear Lord, please help me to weave Your love into the ordinary moments of my day. When I am tired or frustrated, give me the grace to pause and respond with kindness. Let my words, my work, and my interactions be a true reflection of Your love. Amen.
