They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak.
The believers in the early church were ordinary people, just like us, but they didn't rely on their own cleverness. When they stepped out, the Holy Spirit gave them the exact ability and words they needed for that specific moment. God doesn't expect you to have a perfect script ready for every situation.
Today, you can lean into that exact same power. When you face a difficult conversation or feel a sudden nudge to encourage a coworker, take a deep breath and ask the Spirit to guide your words. You might be surprised by the wisdom and grace that flows out of you when you let God do the talking.
Dear God, thank You for the gift of Your Holy Spirit who lives inside of me. Please fill me with Your power today and give me the right words to speak life, love, and truth to the people around me. Amen.
