It is easy to let our past mistakes define us. We all have chapters of our lives we would rather not reread—moments of selfishness, anger, or poor choices. But we are reminded that those old habits and mindsets are who we were, not who we are today.
Ephesians 5:8

For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.
Living out your new identity does not mean you have to be perfect or put on a fake, cheerful smile. It simply means letting God's goodness shine through your normal, everyday routines. It looks like choosing patience when the grocery line is painfully slow, or offering a genuine word of encouragement to a coworker who is struggling.
Today, whenever you feel the pull toward negativity or old destructive reactions, pause and remember who you belong to. You do not belong to the dark anymore. Step into the light by making one intentional choice to bring kindness, honesty, or peace into whatever room you enter.
Dear Lord, thank You for completely changing my identity and pulling me out of the dark. Help me to shine Your goodness in the small, everyday choices I make today. Give me the courage to walk confidently as Your child. Amen.
