She shall give birth to a son. You shall name him Jesus, for it is he who shall save his people FROM their sins.

Matthew 1:21 · Good News
Reflection 1

We spend a lot of time trying to fix ourselves. We read self-help books, make strict resolutions, and promise we will do better tomorrow. But the beautiful name given to God's son reminds us that we were never meant to be our own saviors.

Reflection 2

His very name means rescue. He didn't come just to teach us good morals or show us how to be nice people; He came to break the actual grip of our daily struggles. Whether you are battling a quick temper, a hidden addiction, or a constantly critical spirit, He is actively in the business of pulling you out of the mess.

Reflection 3

Today, stop trying to white-knuckle your way to a better version of yourself. When you feel tempted to fall back into an old, destructive habit, simply pause and speak His name out loud. Hand the struggle over to Him in that moment, trusting that He is fully capable of doing exactly what He came to do.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for sending Your Son to rescue me when I couldn't rescue myself. When I am stuck in my own mess today, remind me to call on His name and let His grace change me. Amen.
