Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

Matthew 5:8 · Purity
Reflection 1

When we hear the word purity, we often think of a strict list of rules or trying to be perfectly flawless. But having a pure heart is really about having undivided motives. It means checking our inner dashboard and asking ourselves why we do the things we do.

Reflection 2

Think of your heart like a windshield on your car. When it gets covered in the dirt of bitterness, selfish ambition, or hidden resentment, it becomes almost impossible to see clearly. Keeping our hearts pure means regularly using the wipers of confession and forgiveness to clear away the daily grime.

Reflection 3

You can practice this today by simply pausing before you speak or act and inviting God to search your motives. When we purposely clear out the clutter of our own agendas, a beautiful thing happens. We start to notice God's presence, goodness, and direction in the ordinary moments of our actual, everyday lives.

Prayer

Dear Lord, please help me to keep my heart undivided and focused on You today. Wash away any hidden selfish motives so that I can see You clearly in everything I do. Amen.
