First, He asks us to locate our joy in the hope of His promises rather than our current circumstances. We can find a reason to smile today because we know He has already secured our tomorrow.

Second, we are called to be resilient when trouble inevitably hits. Endurance does not mean pretending you are not hurting or tired when life gets heavy. It simply means putting one foot in front of the other, trusting that God is walking right beside you in the struggle.
How do we actually maintain that kind of steady hope and grit? We do it by keeping an open line of communication with God continuously. When you feel overwhelmed, try turning your frustration into a quick, honest conversation with Him. Make talking to God your normal daily habit instead of just an emergency backup plan.
Dear Lord, thank You for being my steady hope when life gets hard. Please give me the strength to keep going and the reminder to talk to You throughout my day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
